No license to use them is granted. Without my prior written permission, you may not copy, download, save, reproduce, publish, distribute, share, display, print, sell, edit, crop or adapt them, or use them in other works. This applies to every use, personal or commercial, online or offline. That includes social media, other websites, apps, and printed material.
The same goes for automated use. The photographs and videos may not be
collected by crawlers or scrapers, or used to train, fine-tune or test
artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems. I expressly reserve all
text and data mining rights, including under Article 4(3) of EU Directive
2019/790. The site states this reservation in machine-readable form as well,
in its robots.txt, in HTTP headers, and in each file’s embedded rights metadata.
Sharing pages and posts
You’re welcome to share links to any page or post on this site, whether on social media, by email or in a message. The preview a platform shows when you share a link is fine. Every photo also has its own link, so you can point someone straight to it.
Please don’t download, screenshot, re-upload or embed the photos themselves. Sharing the link keeps them here, credited and in context.
Short quotations from my writing are fine, with credit and a link back to the post.
Licensing a photograph
If you’d like to use one of my photographs, please get in touch. ‘Use’ includes publication, print, editorial or commercial use, or anything else. Tell me:
- which photo (its link is the easiest way),
- how and where you’d like to use it, and
- for how long.
Permission is valid only if I give it in writing, and only for the use it describes.
